How To Use Sage Tea To Darken Grey Hair

Sage and Black Tea rinse

If you are looking for natural ways to darken your hair, try Sage and Black Tea Rinse. This rinse will gently darken your grey hair and also add shine, depth, texture, and gloss to your hair.

Plus, black tea is said to improve growth and reduce shedding, and sage is a soothing hair tonic that helps with scalp dryness.

You will need:

Boil the water and add dried sage leaves and black tea. Reduce the heat and simmer this mix for 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to stand for 30 minutes. Strain out the spent herbs.

To use:

You can use this rinse by just pouring it over your hair from a bowl, or you can use a spout bottle for more even distribution. If using a bowl, catch the drippings and reapply several times until they are all used up.

Squeeze out the excess liquid and wrap up your hair and let it sit for 30 to 60 minutes. Then rinse with cool water or, for extra boost, just leave it in and towel dry hair.

You can also fill the tea in a spray bottle and spray all over your hair and roots.

Repeat once or twice a week to darken/maintain your colour.

I would love to try this- do you know if the grays would be darkened after the first rinse? Or would I need to do it a few times to see a difference in the grays?

olive oil helps in arresting greying to a certain extent. try massaging with olive oil at least twice a week. leave the oil on overnight.

That’s great advice. I am going to try this sage and black tea rinse and won’t rinse it out.
